Every-time, Simon goes off script a little in his other channels. I feel the spirit of the BLAZE

The Palace of Culture and Science was actually a "present" from Stalin to Poland. It was designed by Lev Rudnev.

I occasionally joke with friends about Cleveland being a post-soviet republic. The fact that Cleveland's most iconic building, the Terminal Tower, would fit right in with the Seven Sisters is a big part of that joke. If you compare it to the Warsaw Palace of Science and Culture you can't miss it.

While studying in Moscow back in 99 friends and i bailed out of a malfunctioning elevator on MGU's 26th floor and hoofed it all the way down.
The observation deck offered a great view, but the Metro system is a wonder of the modern world.
Fyi, most visitors can go up to the observation deck with the purchase of a pass for the earth science museum.

I lived in Moscow for 7 years. Most of the buildings I went to for several reasons. All of them are incredible to see. I lived near MGU for two years.... Amazing building... and best view of Moscow.

Not gonna lie, the Palace of the Soviets looks pretty badass

I have been an host at Hilton leningraskaya hotel. The interior is huge, amazing, luxurious and fool. The dark wood paneled corridors have a wonderful shining atmosphere. I like so much the restoration they made. Hilton decided to preserve the dark and mysterious aura so you feel like staying in a spy story set. The rooms are huge with minimal and elegant art deco inspired furniture. The only building fault is that it has only 4 elevators (+1 hidden behind the lobby)

The saying I heard while in Warsaw - the best place to stay in inside Stalin's tower - because then you don't have to look at it.
I've been to the Seven in Moscow, and the one in Warsaw!

I thoroughly enjoyed the video having been to Moscow twice in my life some twenty years apart.
The best bit of the video? You included both the hotels I stayed on my separate trips! The Rossiya the first time as a poorer youngster (the best location of any hotel I have stayed in, now sadly knocked down) and most recently the Leningradskaya. I particularly wanted to stay there because it was one of the Seven Sisters.
Moscow is one of the World's greatest cities and everyone should visit at least once in their life.

I’m irrationally fond of the Stalin wedding cakes. They’re whimsical.

Simon: "The video (about the Palace of the Soviets) is probably already out"
Me: "I think it's been out for over a month"
Youtube: "It came out on the 4th of

You missed the 9th sister, the palace of culture in Warsaw, Poland. Designed by Rudnyev and completed in 1955.

The tiered effect of Stalin's skyscrapers is often called wedding-cake architecture.

7-meters down into the earth? I worked in one of them (Hotel Ukraine / Radisson Royal Moscow) and it had officially 4 floors below surface and network of tunnels connecting other structures nearby.

Thanks for taking up my suggestion Simon. That was fascinating! What about doing the Moscow underground and the secret second underground build for emergency use?

You should do a video on the "city" in Antartica 🇦🇶. It wasn't easy to build and is fairly complicated to maintain
