Frankly being Telugu I am not bother losing 2nd place to Tamilnadu. Ultimately what it matters is development of the country. Frankly both AP and TN are using well but needs to do more.

Another interesting fact is that Andaman Nicobar islands merely forms 0.2% of India's total land area but has 27.78% of India's total coastline at around 3, 083.50 km (highest in India) and also contributes 30% of Exclusive Economic Zone of India.❤

I always knew our coastline length seemed a little off

Every other country’s coastlines also would have increased similarly thanks to tech advancements, not just India.

It’s not coastline that has changed it’s government view of calculation. News should be reported properly.

Why did you remain silent during Odisha's figures

There is clear effort to undermine Telugu community from last 21 years . They successfully made Andhra Pradesh to a poor and broken state. Not a single big central project completed in Andhra Pradesh after Vajpayee era.

It is really strange (Fractals apart) ! Looks like it is a preamble for some future big action ! Gujarat coast is more than doubled (from the earlier 1214.7 km). Why didn't you include Rajasthan, with a coast (of a km) on the Little Rann of Cutch (now silted-up)? After all, that too is part of the sea. A good Pelagic survey is good & shall have to be welcomed.
Veracity of figures apart, Gujarat has a coast line, mostly along internal seas (Gulfs of Cutch & Cambay), not amenable for deep-sea ports & shipping. At the other end Tamilnadu suffers the same fate, with Palk start & Gulf of Mannar. That doesn't add to the country's SEZ area, that is more important. After the loss of a fine harbour, Karachi (country's partition time), Republic of India built a fine port at Kandla, the last point on an internal sea, so as to be nearest to the hinterland. It was a blunder. You don't build a port & expect ships to come - like someone building a garage on first floor (as the story goes)! VLCC & ULCC are ruled out. You build a port where ships come & can dock, however long the feeder railway lengths be. It is the continental mindset that established it & has ruined Kandla from emerging as the terminus of global cargo ships. It was an "honest" mistake & entire expenditure on it wouldn't go waste if we've learnt the right lessons (otherwise it is waste of money). Instead, Port Okha (Dwaraka, about 500 n.m. (nautical miles; from Cha Bahar in Iran & same from Muscat coast) should have been developed. It isn't too late even now as Railway network is good there, especially with the latest trend of Gas Cargo ships docked in port, till the supply gets exhausted.
It is why shippers there, are on the look out, on coasts of other states (how welcome they are, there, is a moot point). It is going to be country's area+SEZ, to determine a country's size in future.
Country's defense faces problems on this account. One is the shallow Rann (of Cutch) waters straddling international borders, across which our neighbour launched adventures in the past, that we needed to contend with. While offering no worthwhile port Sundarbans coast too suffers from the same patrolling problem - necessitating "out-of-the-box" thinking on our part. Defense Hovercraft is a good solution (& none can be run over, under it). Kalam Saab's first project handled, was - hovercraft.

This is just coastline paradox and meaningless

Depends on the scale of measurement 😂
If you measure the length of your house using a 1 km scale then it would be almost 0, however using a 1 Meter scale would give accurate measurement
