A Closer Look at the Flair PRO3

We’ve made a number of changes with the PRO3 in an effort to make our PRO brewer better than ever:

The thinner cylinder makes it easier to get started with crafting incredible espresso by simplifying workflows.
We are also including a preheat funnel to further simplify the process for those who favor lighter roasts, or harder to extract coffees.
And the included shot mirror now makes for an easy way to monitor your extraction and make brewing decisions in real time.

It absolutely still needs preheating. I’ve tested the temps with & without preheating with this new thinner cylinder - 170° without, 200° with. Endorsing not preheating is wildly inappropriate.

I was hoping the next Pro release was gonna have a heating element like the 58. Hopefully they release a Flair 51 or something and priced between the Pro and 58.

I'm so torn between the pro3 and the 58. I knew the pro3 is great, but i think i would be much happier with a 58 and have no fomo....

My flair pro is still going strong after 6 years of daily use. It's interesting to see where the flair is heading, but I bet a lot of people bought the orginal because the brewhead was so solid and thick walled... It really speaks a lot about quality and longevity. So I don't know if the current direction is good - wasn't having no requirement to preheat one of the cheaper ones main goal? (neo I believe). I don't know, it seems like a weird decision for me and I REALLY like my flair so there is no hate, only care from my point.

One detail I couldn’t find, is the water chamber new part or the one from the neo? Is the portafilter new or the same as the pro2?

You can't fool physics! The more metal, the higher the heat capacity, the more heat is needed for heating, the slower the cooling. With a thick-walled cylinder, we have greater thermal stability of the system after heating it, and with a thin-walled cylinder, we have a radiator for quick cooling. I'm glad that I managed to buy pro2, and even in chrome color, which promises to become a rarity.

It should be "Flair Pro 2+ (plus)" instead of Pro 3
