It seems that when Doug joined Comicsgate, he had an idea of what it meant, and that expectation disappointed him once he saw it up close. I'm not saying he's right or wrong, but Doug always seemed willing to back the fraternity's individual projects despite knowing that they all didn't really like Doug all that much. Whereas Cecil (who I actually really like) seemed quick to back and then reneg when he got irritated. If anything good can be said of Doug, it's that he saw the group as a unified resistance against SJW ideals, and expected just that. In a way, his disenchantment with CG is understandable. On the other hand, Doug did compromise the movement by defending his religious beliefs brashly... with the potential to push viewers away and harm the brand. Buuuut, I mean that's what resistance is. So what is the movement about? I think Doug actually took Comicsgate more seriously than anyone, as far as it's core purpose goes. And I think he lost faith when he saw the others adopting some of the lesser traits of SJW censorship within the channel and was emotionally wounded by it. But what the fuck do I know?

It really sucks that in todays day and age you almost have to pick sides. I watch EVS and I watch Doug TenNapel, honestly didn't even know they had a connection until recently. I used to think this was more a far left kind of thing, more and more lately my eyes are being opened to the fact that it's a world of we have 10 things in common but 1 difference.. we are now enemies. Maybe a bad example here that doesn't perfectly fit, but it's what this makes me feel like because they say and feel a lot of the same things if you listen to them both. Sad.

I think both Doug and Ethan had some valid points on this drama.
Its a shame that they are beefing but I still like both of them.
Doug is right about marriage, the gays and the troons.
Ethan is right about wanting to keep Comicsgate apolitical.
Doug was wrong in trying to use CG as this whole "my personal army" shit.
Ethan was wrong about starting to excommunicate people (no matter what kind of shit they say) from CG.

In the end it just reinforces my belief that Nick Rekieta was right about cliques and fandoms.

Been trying to understand the EVS/ Tennapel episode for a few months now. Doug has been making some interesting content on platforms I subscribe to. Is there an actual clip or receipt of him being called a homophobe and especially a transphobe by EVS? I have never seen the actual point where this all happened and neither of these guys are willing to go in depth about it strangely enough.
