Chicago Public Library was selected by Library of America to produce a public event examining Black poetry in America. The celebration was anchored by the publication of the anthology, African American Poetry: 250 Years of Struggle and Song, edited by poet and Schomburg Center Director Kevin Young. I was selected to read "We Wear The Mask", by Paul Lawrence Dunbar.
