Why is the Oldschool Runescape Market Crashing?

We have a lot to talk about this month! A massive market crash has started this month and pretty much every item in the game as been effected. What has caused this dip?

There are so many items to cover and so many new updates coming out soon. From the PvM market ,to resource items we have a lot of items to cover. We have a new league coming up soon as well which also can have a huge effect on the osrs economy!

every single year around october and november the osrs economy always collapses. every single year like clockwork after 18 years of playing this game you would think people would just accept it as part of the game. you gotta remeber most peoples lives get busy starting sept. most of us have kids and or jobs that get hectic around this time of year we cant play as much during the fall compared to the summer months

Sold my bank for a shadow, never going to sell it because I enjoy using it more over any other item in the game. Not sure why people sell their items when the end goal is to collect all of the items

It's because people sell off their gearsets collecting dust in the bank before Leagues
(and players returning to OSRS bring items back into the market that have been on inactive accounts)

More of an item being traded = price drops

Things are already recovering when you posted this video. 12-11 was the absolute bottom. Got full virtus and some other items I needed at a bargain

Imo most of the higher end items were over inflated to begin with. It’s crashing to where the price should be, and even then some of the items are still worth more than what they should.

This is probably commented already, but when you give the armageddon weapon scroll to Nigel, it will permanently unlock all weapon cosmetics for the player and remove the scroll permanently. So there's less of them every day.
