I JUST SAW MARVEL STUDIOS SECRET INVASION

I just saw Marvel Studios Secret Invasion episodes 1 and 2 early and it is incredible so far I am so impressed and amazed by this show!
Secret Invasion is a 2023 American television miniseries created by Kyle Bradstreet for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics storyline of the same name. It is intended to be the ninth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios, sharing continuity with the films of the franchise. It follows Nick Fury and his allies, who attempt to thwart a Skrull invasion of Earth. Bradstreet serves as the head writer with Ali Selim directing.

Samuel L. Jackson reprises his role as Fury from the film series, along with Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, with Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Charlayne Woodard, Killian Scott, Samuel Adewunmi, Dermot Mulroney, Christopher McDonald, Katie Finneran, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, and Don Cheadle also starring. Development on the series began by September 2020, with Bradstreet and Jackson attached. The title and premise of the series, along with Mendelsohn's casting, were revealed that December. Additional castings occurred throughout March and April 2021, followed by the hiring of Selim to direct the series that May. Filming had begun in London by September 2021, and wrapped in late April 2022. Additional filming occurred across West Yorkshire and in Liverpool, England.

Secret Invasion is scheduled to be released on June 21, 2023, and will consist of six episodes. It will be the first series of Phase Five of the MCU.

Secret Invasion is so boring. The first episode is basically a couple different scenes of two or three people sitting in a dimly lit room talking and giving exposition that is begging audiences to believe this thing is as important to the MCU as Infinity War and Endgame. Which is hard to believe because it’s a cheap looking TV show on a streaming service and not a movie or two.


The acting is atrocious. The CGI, like She-Hulk, is mediocre at best. Even the action set piece at the end of episode 1 feels like a freaking CW tween action scene instead of something the MCU used to be.

Oh, and the cliffhanger ending is so laughable if you passed 9th grade biology class.

Secret Invasion, despite my misguided hope, is just another pile of crap from DisneyMarvel that will use the name of a beloved story to give us something absolutely lackluster and a waste of time. RIP Marvel.

Can we cut the marvel tanking bull shit? Phase 4 was bad but phase 5 has been incredible and the magic is back. No I don’t count ant man. 4/5 of phase 5 has been a hit which is more than phase 2 ever was. Let’s stop being optimistic and move the fuck on from phase 4, the transitional phase.
