Hero would do unspeakable things to Sunny after finding out what he did. He could barely forgive himself for Mari's death so it's easily doubtable that he'd forgive Sunny, so he pulls the glock...

My headcanon is that they'll forgive him in time, just not right away.

Well Kel might forgive him right away, on account of being Kel.

But I think there's a reason the game doesn't show us their reaction: Sunny has learned to move on with his life, regardless. He didn't beat Omori because he thought he'd be forgiven (hell, depending on how you view the relationship between the two, he probably *didn't* think they'd forgive him), he wins despite knowing his friends may hate him.

You can't change what you've done, nor can you run from the consequences, but you can try to move on with your life.

Knowing hero i'm sure he will forgive sunny and will feel an immense relife becuase he blamed himself for mari's "suicide" and felt he wasn't there for her but after knowing the truth he will be relieved that it was an accident and she didn't suicide.
And im sure aubrey and kel will feel the same too and will forgive sunny

i still dont understand why people think hero would be mad at sunny for that, honestly from how i saw hero in the game, when sunny told them all hero wouldve probably just hugged sunny and understood that it wasnt sunnys intention.

Here's my personal take on how everyone could've taken the news after the initial shock wore off:

I read in a comment somewhere that someone thought that Aubrey would be the first to forgive Sunny, since in the game at one point she accidentally knocked Basil into the water in a moment of anger and he almost drowned. I agree that she might have told Sunny she understood, and feel bad for him that Mari actually died in his scenario, and be the first to take his side.

Kel is an eternal optimist and in my opinion Sunny's best friend second to Basil. I think he would take in what Aubrey said and be the second to realize that it wasn't Sunny's intention for Mari to die when he pushed her down the staircase, that it was an accident, and Kel would give Sunny a hug and say they'd work through it together as they always do.


Hero I think would take the longest to process the truth, because he loved Mari the most other than Sunny, her brother. Although I think after watching Aubrey and Kel forgive him, and say that it was an accident, I think Hero would accept the truth because of another comment that I read that he felt guilty before because he thought Mari killed herself and blamed himself for not being there for her. Then I think he would move to feeling guilty for Sunny for not being there for him more all this time, and for Basil, and that he would come forward and say he's sorry.

After that, I think the question would be turned to Basil, but I think all of them would realize they might have done the same thing in Basil's situation, if they were young and saw something traumatizing and just wanted to help. Then I think they would all reminiss over the past and Mari, and continually decide to always be there for each other.

I could be wrong and biased because I like happy endings, but I hope that the situation would go something like this.
