This is a good video, you go ahead and use your local colloquialisms for the apron. Also, that grass powder seems like its static grass, which would work better applied in small pinches or with a static applicator. And maybe with the glue stippled on with a brush instead of poured

i made one a couple days ago for my Daron worldwide trading plane models and i used cocrete in my backyard and put fine dry dirt and i outline the little taxiways and stuff they start to appear the more i play with it and it dosnt break and rain is not that big of a deal either :)
