Experience in the Premodern Sciences of Soul and Body followed its own norms. It was a method for knowledge making in some disciplines, most visibly in medicine. Yet, its significance in and for premodern science lay elsewhere. This talk by research group leader Katja Krause will showcase some of the key findings of the Max Planck Research Group "Experience in the Premodern Sciences of Soul and Body ca. 800-1650" and discuss their implications for a longue-durée historical epistemology of scientific experience.
