Hello do you happen to know if there is a way for a databound Dropdownlist with pressing a button and save it in the table

I have created 2 cascading dropdownlist, so that I get the selected value to be inserted in the DB.
the first problem I encounter when doing this using c# code behind is that I get the dropdown loaded from the dropdown designated table the first time, but if I proceed with insert or other operation such as delete on the form, the dropdownlist does not load anymore and it become empty, unless I restart the app
