Once again, people don’t often leave companies, but they do often leave bosses and bad environments.

I'm so happy I prepared. Paid off my mortgage and paid off all my vehicles.. several years emergency fund. Some may question why so much. I quit my job to start my own business in design manufacturing. It's been 5 months so far, and I haven't even touched my emergency fund 😊 hard work does pay off 😊🎉 👏

The days a company cares about employees is gone. My uncle had 3 years before retirement they laid him off. He then found out it was happening all over the company where their laying off anyone close to retirement. To cut costs. We are now at the age of don’t trust companies you mean nothing to them. You will destroy your life if you put any trust in one. Always be looking for a better opportunity

You even think of telling a boss or manager about feel like leaving you will 100% be punished for it. Happened to me

He always uses the work “leaders”. I’ve worked in corporate America for 2 giant companies for 30 years now. There are almost no “leaders” in my experience. There are managers, directors, baby sitters, etc…. Maybe others have had different experiences but this is what I’ve experienced

I never tell my boss I’m looking for another job. I’ve always heard that one should keep that under wraps until a new gig is secured.

Our company refuses to address the unfair metrics used to judge everyone. Others succeed by taking shortcuts that they can get away with all the rest of us work honestly it looks like we’re producing less

The system is failing and the numbers are cooked. The real question is, what happens next?

I got laid off a week after my first son died on July 30th this year. He was two days old, he died in my arms at the hospital.

Try doing food delivery full time as your only income to support a family. Never get a raise. Pay only goes down. In my 50s with health problems. Can't just go and get any job. I've done delivery driving my own car into the ground for 8+ years. First 4 years I averaged $25 to $40 an hour, sometimes more. Now, it's $4 to $10 an hour. I'm panicking and trying to find something else to improve my income and hopefully find something I like. The freedom and flexibility of gig work is priceless. Felt amazing. Hard to give that freedom up. Maybe can start my own business.

I work in community not for profit - there is no bonus, there is no ladder, at best you’ll get a nice certificate to say ‘great appreciation’. The leaders are all in the same boat. So while they’re nice and supportive, they have nothing to give except nice words and that sometimes just isn’t enough to pay the bills.

In 2024, employers have no interest in training, growing, or helping their employees become more valuable. That only costs the company money in higher wages. Most large companies won't care if you leave anyway. They can just higher someone younger for less money. Unless you are a top performer, never complain about anything or within a short period of time, you will be fired for "lack of work".

Wow that point at 9:58 was huge!

I’ve received stellar reviews over the last few years. Recently, with no communication regarding my performance, I was put on a PIP plan. This once months after I received another stellar mid year review. Luckily, I had things set up in my personal life to leave and not put up with bad leaders.

"Wages are outpacing inflation". If you use the 1980s metric for inflation then wages are still behind inflation.

In my area of southern California I am also feeling the housing crisis pressure on top of looking for 2nd/3rd jobs that fit w/ schedule... $1700 for a ROOM in a house... 😂

My employer just keeps on throwing more responsibilities on me and putting insane demand and pressure on me and my job title doesn’t match what I do and they won’t change it even though I discussed this with my boss. What a terrible situation to be in.
