Speed Training: Stride Length Drill

preview_player
Показать описание
Our athletes are sprinting through a drill that helps teach them how to lengthen their stride. Linear speed is a function of stride length by stride frequency.

We use cones that start out closer to together and progress to wider and wider gaps. Use whatever equipment you have available— mini hurdles, tape, etc.

I am confused regarding stride length, yes I can see that increasing it can increase the speed, but others aruge for a shorter and faster stride length to help avoid injury. Does using a long stride length really increase the risk of injury or is it more about how you do it?
