JD Vance FLOPS On Georgia School Shooting Response

"PHOENIX (AP) — Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance said Thursday that he lamented that school shootings are a “fact of life” and argued the U.S. needs to harden security to prevent more carnage like the shooting this week that left four dead in Georgia.

“If these psychos are going to go after our kids we’ve got to be prepared for it,” Vance said at a rally in Phoenix. “We don’t have to like the reality that we live in, but it is the reality we live in. We’ve got to deal with it.”"

As someone who lost my only younger sister about 3 years ago to a school shooting, and as a Christian, I actually find it insulting when people just give victims of gun violence “thoughts and prayers.” Because what happens is they’ll forget it ever happened like a week, or even a day later, and do nothing to prevent more like it. I’d rather people quietly donate to gun safety organizations than give my family “thoughts and prayers.” Because donating and voting will do far more to help my family than blind thoughts.

I’m so sick of kids being slaughtered like animals. My family was directly affected by a school shooting back in 1998. My niece who had just turned 12 on March 11th was gunned down on March 24th by two classmates at the Westside School Shooting in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Here we are 26 years later and it’s still happening.

We had one terrible shooting of young school kids here in the UK back in the 90s. The gun laws were immediately changed and there hasn't been another one since. No-one should have to send their child to school and worry that they won't return home alive.

I live in Australia, I have lived in England, Germany and Norway, if my daughters had to learn what to do in the case of a shooter in school, I would get my family out of that country asap. Your gun laws are the most ridiculous I have ever come across. In America, if someone even looks at taking military firearms off the street they chuck a temper tantrum.
