Fun fact, if u run out of gas, thats worse for ur engine than filling it once with sub approved fuel

I found this out with a CEL. Everytime I’ll fuel up at a specific station I would get a bad mixture code of some sort. DROVE ME CRAZY! A new station opened up and got gas there….night and day difference. Everywhere is different but some stations have very old tanks that even if the gas is good…the tank under the ground is still dirty and may mess with the quality of the gas. Very good PSA.

All gasoline comes from the same pipeline. The additives each brand adds is the what is different. The quality of the fuel storage tank is also important.

I just use Top Tier fuel, which is a standard only specific brands adhere to. Also on direct injection engines use BG GDI Intake Valve Cleaner and a couple other products every 30, 000 miles to keep the valves clean. Cars seem to last 200, 000 with no problem doing this.

As a millitary bulk fuel specialist and automotiveTechnician, i can say she is 100% correct.

Getting stuck in the middle of nowhere because of such a conviction is taking it too far.

Tho she’s not wrong, what she didn’t mention was 90% of fuel stations all have the SAME exact gas. My step dad was a fuel driver and I asked him for which brand did he drive/deliver. He said “all of them”. I didn’t get it. He said I literally drive to arco, Shell, Chevron to 76… All of them get the same exact fuel mixture.

Learning later that all of these “specialized” “Techron’s” and cleaning agents are a US minimum requirement already added by the plant. Not these gas stations. Which they all get from the same plant which is required by law. It’s just marketing to advertise they meet standards. But to make us believe they’re better they have fun to say names for the detergents to make you think THEIR gas is special. It’s all the same gas and additives if you’re in the US. Other countries I cannot speak for, a massive factor is actually the health of their tanks. Which degrade over time and at times can get contaminants like dirt water or foreign matter which go into your tank and run through your car. But that has nothing to do with the brand but the location.

I drilled for crude working for savanna energy. I followed the oil to the battery and requested to see the process to the upgrader and put the diesel in my truck after I got a tour. (No cameras allowed ). Absolutely is a massive difference in fuel quality from different suppliers. But the real question is who is upgrading and pumping their fuel. Shell has never done me wrong. And for my wife’s Cadillac it’s always been 94 octane and also has never failed me. I stand by shell and rosella

Faye Im the same way! I only use ine gas station in my area! If I ever get anything thats not gasoline in my tank, I can rest assured it where it came from!! I Love your videos!!

Read the comments. Just go to newer stations that have newer tanks. Also, Stabil is actually a really great product. I have used Stabil storage in all of my gas cans for my yard equipment for many years.

I 💯 agree on buying used. That's why when I bought my 2014 Nissan altima, it had 32k miles on it. I performed an induction service on it. And after that. One every 50k miles. I have 235k miles on it now. Run like a top. Still getting 38.3 mpg

Fun fact most gas stations in your area all have the same gas from the same place the difference is the additive they put in before delivery.. and unless your car requires high octane gas. It really doesn't matter

how much gas in a gas station storage tanks is a factor too.. if the gas station is low, you have a chance to get bottom garbage in your tank. Was doing a road trip with my sister up the I5, filled up in SF, by the time we started going up the mountains in Oregon I noticed we starting loosing power.. then speed dropped from 5 over the speed limit to 20 below.. to city speeds when we pulled into a garage just when they opened up. turns out a fuel pump clogged.

Keep up the great work Faye! Non-ethanol fans remember to fill 1st gallon into car before filling a 5 gallon container so its not tainted from pump of other gas previously pumped.

I run a diesel, i have noticed that depending on where i get fuel i can go a 200miles or i can go over 1000 miles without a regen cycle. I've learned that to get the longer mileage between cycles to buy my fuel at truck stops along the interstate instead of local gas stations. I believe that since the turnover rate of diesel at truck stops is much higher than your local station its much fresher fuel and therefore it burns much cleaner.

@FayeHadley, I actually drive a few extra miles to find a shell gas station for my Tacoma and won’t use anything else. They have quality cleaner in their fuel.

This is a commercial/shill video. The bottle does not even mention what you claim it does. I highly doubt a bottle to Stabil would “undo” engine damage. If it did, they would print it on the bottle so large that you could see it from space.

I can honestly say I bought bad gas from a gas station. The motor was running rough. Really rough. At a half tank, I found a shell and used premium. That fixed the issue.

360 is good stuff, I also like to add a little startron to combat ethanol sludge in my small engines……TN “allows” up to 3% ethanol gas to be sold as 100% pure gas…….so a little preventative up front

Please make a video on what stations you do recommend. Or video on what fuel additives you do approve of or like. So many out there that claims the same!!
