So, without anymore delay, here is how to download and install Minecraft Forge 1.20.1!

First things first, you will need to download Forge. You can find a link in the description above to download Forge. That will take you to our official text guide on how to get Forge 1.20.1 in Minecraft.

This text tutorial covers everything you need to know including how to fix common issues with Forge such as exit code 1 and exit code 0.

With that being said, on this tutorial, click the “Download Forge” button to be taken to the official Forge download page. On the left-hand side, click the “1.20” option and select “1.20.1”. The 1.20.1 version of Forge will display. Next, click the “Installer” button under “Download Latest”.

You will then be taken to AdFocus where you need to wait 10 seconds and click the red “Skip” button in the top right. This will start Forge 1.20.1 downloading. You may need to keep or save Forge depending on your browser.

Once Forge is downloaded, we can move on to how to install Forge 1.20.1 in Minecraft. This is pretty simple. Just right-click on the Forge Installer you downloaded, select Open With, click Java, and click Okay. The Forge 1.20.1 install will open. In the installer, select “Install Client”, and click “Okay”. When you do, Forge 1.20.1 will start installing. The only reason you may have issue is if you haven’t play Minecraft 1.20.1 before or if you have Minecraft or the Minecraft Launcher open.

After the Forge installer gives you a successful message, open up the Minecraft Launcher. Then, in the Minecraft Launcher, click on the “Forge” installation in the drop-down next to the Play button. Select it, click Play, and click Play on the pop-up that appears. When you do, Minecraft 1.20.1 will open up with Forge installed!

In order to add Minecraft mods, click on the “Mods” button on the Minecraft main menu, and click the “Mod Folder” button in the bottom left. Add any Minecraft 1.20.1 mods you want to install here. Just make sure the mods are 1.20.1 Forge compatible. When you do, restart Minecraft making sure to open it with Forge, and the mods will be active!

I myself ran into the error-1 when launching the world. I removed all my mods which was just journey map from 1.19.4 from the mods folder then closed minecraft, relaunched it, and it started working correctly. I went back and got the new journey map edition for 1.20.1, moved it into the mods folder, and Minecraft is working completely fine. I did nothing additional to make it work.

Problem: "Error 1", I found the solution. Like many of you, I hadn't installed any mods, yet I was getting an error. To resolve the issue, all I had to do was update my graphics card drivers. I used Driver Booster.
