Recovered VHS Gems (from the archives) Episode 67: ALIEN: RESURRECTION Widescreen VHS Bonus Features

This series chronicles my continuing efforts to digitally archive my entire VHS collection and I will be posting any cool or odd things I find.

In this episode we are looking at media from “ALIEN: RESURRECTION” (1997), starring Sigourney Weaver, Winona Ryder, Gary Dourdan, and Michael Wincott, directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Released as bonus material for a 1999 clamshell VHS of the film, we are looking at a theatrical trailer and behind the scenes featurette that details some of the making of the film. Produced and released by 20th Century Fox and distributed by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, I present them here for archiving, educational, and research purposes. I should also note that while many are critical of this film, I quite enjoy it. I remember it coming out a day before Thanksgiving in 1997, and I recall going to the local Star theater on Thanksgiving day with my Dad to see it after dinner. Then later in '99 I remember picking this VHS up at Suncoast, which was in the mall, if anybody remembers those stores? Best place to get widescreen VHS and Laserdiscs for awhile (and later DVD). Good memories.

With the exception of opening and closing title cards, the program is presented as it originally appeared on VHS home video (unless otherwise indicated) for presentation, educational, research, and archiving purposes.
