The next generation VW Golf GTI has a lot of changes but the same hot hach character you love from the previous GTI models. This 2022 Golf GTI is the mid trim SE and still offers quite a bit in terms of features, but it's steep at $36k. The base S Golf GTI is a true value winner with all of it's standard features and the top Autobahn is still the most premium and sportiest thanks to it's additions.

good job. I saw ( a few) other YouTube videos which put a stock Mk8 GTI on a dyno and found the power ratings from VW are 'underrated" and after testing saw readings of 245-249hp and 290-302 torque. (up from 241/273). I also read the highway MPG "real world " is ~37mpg on regular

I have the 2020 GTI Autobahn and the longer I drive it the more I love it. Such a well engineered car. Refined but fun when you want it to be. Only complaint is road noise which can be remedied with different tires. It probably won't be the most reliable car I've owned but I hope to keep it long term regardless.

I like the new GTI. Still love my mk6 but I could see myself upgrading when car prices get back to normal.

I can't believe the complaints about the buttons, I swear everyone meme-ing the buttons. Listen folks they're totally fine, you just need to get over it. I have an Autobahn, works perfect and easy to use. Lordy give it a break

So glad I got the MK 7.5 those capacitive touch controls on the MK8 is horrible! I test drove this at a dealership and the sales man was trying to sell me a 2022 with like a $10k markup, I was like no thanks.

When finally having to sell my gti mkvi and looking at the new mk8, i declined. I disagree with you. I found the autobahn version decidedly less "luxurious" inside than my mark vi. I found much more hard cheap looking plastics in the 8 vs my mkvi...overall, my mkvi gti inside looked and felt and was more luxurious than the mk8. That, coupled with vw's insistence in replacing all the buttons and dials with their new horrible system, set me to a competitor. Vw lost a long time vw customer in me.

Controls not an issue. Reviewers don’t learn how to use. Easily buy at sticker ie 32k
