Casuals rise up! But not together. Making friends is scary.

I said it during Curse of Osiris and I'll say it again after all these years:
they STILL have the infinite forest at their disposal which provides the opportunity to create a rifting/greater rifting system of randomized/procedural "dungeons" a la diablo - this sounds like a move in the right direction but COME ON, IT'S RIGHT THERE!

Solo Ops reusing underused locations is actually great. There are so many spaces in Destiny 2 that are only utilized a handful of times or haven’t been relevant for years.

I’ve been playing solo a lot for ten years, my husband and son is always working, so I’m running around by myself, I’ve seen the toxic environment that comes with other players, they put players down and they gate keep, I am 63 years old playing like the rest is sometimes overwhelming for me, having other things to do as a solo player would be so awesome for me, and I thank bungie for that!

I'm so glad theyre introducing more for us solo players. I used to have a whole clan, do weekly raids and every power reward possible on all 3 characters.

Nowadays, it feels like I have to force friends to play this damn game, and they do like one activity then get off. Most of the time I barely complete my weekly challenges on one character, mainly because I'm waiting for people who say "ill be on tonight" then never appear.

And when I do LFG ppl be like "ill add you and we will play again" then they just never invite me to anything at all.

I met two dudes who felt the same they said, so we all added each other to game with and were gonna do contest vespers host.

Got on after work, with an hour til the dungeon launched, nobody online. Then 5 mins before it launched they appear online, already in a fireteam of 3.

This is why I play solo, because people don't respect the commitment made or my time, the same way I respect theirs. And its tiring.

Sure, you could make the argument that nobody is required to respect my time, but isn't that the whole point of having gaming buddies? I used to be excited to come home from work and get on games with the boys, feels like online friends are a thing of the past nowadays.

Finally something I can do on my own when I decide I had enough selling out my clan

Honestly glad to hear it. Have felt like there's always been a gap for solo players trying to find large enemy density areas that actually feels like we're progressing something else at the same time. Yes we can go in the lost sectors but that doesn't progress towards any reputation or the pathfinder. So players on a time constraint run into an issue where in order to get something done they they have to take a loss somewhere else or fight against other players that are also trying to do the samething.
Love to see that they're giving us something so that the matchmaking block solo glitch is not the only thing we can do in order to get things done.

This game really is like an abusive relationship, just when I think I’ve had enough and I’m done it whispers sweet nothings into my ear and pulls me back in.

When i read Treasure Goblin, i immediately thought of a Vex Goblin with a little backpack strapped to its back.

The coil was one of my favorite activities ever tbh, rewarding while challenging similar to onslaught

Is Destiny hostile to solo players?! Yes. Yes it is. 100%. I am a solo player. I’ve never played a raid. I’ve never beaten a dungeon solo. I hated grinding legendary lost sectors. I gave up years ago on getting most of the new shiny loot and exotics. So this actually sounds pretty good to me.

Reusing environments was something they did A LOT in D1… some people would complain that “this is just that level backwards, ” but I loved it. Most of the time you wouldn’t realize it was a place you’d been because you never travel that direction.

Solo Ops are a fine addition to me for two main reasons:
1- Catalysts and weapon level grind (I'm tired of Shuro Chi)
2- For those times I want to test a build, a weapon perk combination, etc. and I don't want two random blueberries killing everything before I have the chance to do shit.
Plus I don't think Solo Ops will kill Strikes. After a little while everyone will go back to do Strikes as normal, unless needed, because it takes less effort to complete.

FINALLY. My prismatic warlock build struggles a bit in group play because everyone always takes my dang kills.

Make a rouge-lite set in the infinite forest. They could use any location because “it’s all simulated” and as long as they have random upgrades to choose from after clearing encounters, not like how the coil had set buffs that you could save up for but I do like the idea of have tiered buffs that cost different amounts. It would bring in so many players especially if it had a leader board for solo and fireteam scores.

Honestly this makes sense with the old/new direction Bungie is trying to go in. They showed us that their going back to the exciting secrets of raids and in game mysteries that required multiple people to take on at once and now their showing us that solo players are gonna get the same treatment too.

I had a large number of friends that straight up said they’d stop playing Destiny altogether if Bungie started catering to raid players over solo players because solo still makes up the majority of the player base. I love the raids and the dungeons but I won’t lie I’ve played the last 10 years of the 99.9999% of the game in solo…so much to the point that I’d rather spend 8 hours solo trying to do a 2 hour long team activity if it means I don’t have to talk to someone.

This is so funny. I was just taking to my only friend about how we are just causal D2 players. Feel like we never have time to do some of the real content on the game (Raids and some Dungeons). We have done a few dungeons but life gets in the way. We have kids and play when we can. This is such a nice thing to see for the game!

@7:45 TLDR: I am true solo player, and yes it is VERY solo unfriendly because it from fun/replayability, or time commitments just to get wiped and sent to orbit in some cases.

All my friends stopped playing Destiny during D1. I pride myself on being a good Destiny player but suffer from Adjustment disorder, being a major introvert, and having 2 younger kids and a wife that doesn’t play video games. So for me, it is VERY hard to commit to a raid or dungeon (time wise) LET ALONE to accept an invite from the persons I’ve done those activities with because I just don’t have that same free time or a desire/drive to complete those things or even just “chit chat”

Another problem is I LOVE the scenes, locations, and visuals Destiny has and most people just want to blaze through it, and it’s hard for me to tell them to wait when they start becoming toxic. I can’t experience those things from a raid without 5 other people I may never talk to nor am confident to interact with in the first place.

Every single dev insight for frontiers has been a banger. Improving the solo experience, making the core game activities more replayable and worthwhile, adding new legendary weapon tiers and armor rework leading to deeper progression. They're fixing all the core issues the game has had for YEARS. This is basically D3. Think about it. Light and dark saga is done so it's gonna be a new story. As well as all of the changes I mentioned above that they are making which would've been what D3 did. Only difference is we will have all of our current loot. Which is awesome. Even prismatic was something completely new which could've been in a D3. I'm excited.

Finally!
That feeling in a matchmade mode when you load in late, or fall off your sparrow - and suddenly your teammates are a hundred miles ahead and you have to run through the whole mission, all rooms empty- all bad guys already long since dead.
