Resurrecting a designation first used on a now-legendary limited-production 1969 Camaro model, the 2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1 is on track to become the most powerful, best-performing and technologically advanced Camaro in history and a more-than-formidable foe for the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. In this video Chevrolet's Tom Peters shows off some of the ZL1's finer features.

I'm a mustang guy, buy they did a great job with the car. I like how they brought the rims to the wells. Car looks great and it'll haul too.

My stock civic si would kill it with a tune though...

Very, very nice & powerful. I was wondering when the Z28 was coming out & it turns out to be a ZL1. Starting at 47k is killer indeed. I already have a commitment to the 2SS I bought in Jan. 2010 so I can't pursue it but it's still cool to know that Chevy O.K.'d this mean machine. I can't wait to see one on the road.

@KiNgOfSuPrAs Really? I have to look that up then. I thought the ZL1 was going to be a limited 750hp but it turns out to be 550hp (still a beast). The 550hp specs was reported to be for the future Z28. So I wonder what the Z28 will be about then if this car already covers that territory?
