10 Movies and shows about foster care and adopting families

Sometimes the foster care system is not great but I wanted to share with you some movies and shows I like.
Fun fact: I was in foster care and lived with a Caucasian family. I was blessed to be in a good home. Comment down below if you would like to know more about my experience in foster care and why I was there and why I lived with my aunts most of my life.

1. Sister sister- Twins Tia and Tamera were separated at birth due to the orphanage messing up. They actually bumped into each other by accident in the mall. From then they moved in together and learn to work as a blended family and as twins.

2. Fosters family- A lesbian couple adopts 2 sets of siblings different times. This show has some drama and sentimental moments in this show. Also shows how everyone adopts in their own way.

3. This is us- Randall was adopted when the mom lost one of her triplets during pregnancy. Randall later decides to adopt a teen named Deja, where they all have to adjust to this as she has a life prior to them. Kate also adopts a child for her son to have a sibling as she was having problems conceiving.

4. Lee Daniels Star- The sisters mom died and they were separated in the system unfortunately one sister had a bad foster home and was abused. When they meet up they decide to go to Carlotta their moms friend to advance their music career.

5. Anne of Green Gables- Brother and sister have a farm and want to adopt a boy to help around the house and also since they are getting older they need assistance and company. The orphanage sent a girl and when they sent her she was full of questions and inquisitive and said she can help around the farm as much as a boy. She grew on them and they decided to keep her.

6. Annie- Whether the newer version or the classic, Annie is a orphan who stays optimistic but is mistreated by her orphanage. She meets a rich man who later adopts her. This is a musical

7. The blind side- based on a true story a homeless black teen is adopted by a Caucasian family who take a special interest in his sporting abilities. The family helps him to overcome his learning disabilities.

8. Matilda- Matilda grew up in a family where she did not feel she belonged. When she started school she became fond of her teacher. Her teacher was adopted by her aunt originally who had a part to play in her dads death. Later on Mathilda's dad was into crime and needed to be on the run. She did not want to go and asked her teacher to adopt her.

9. A little princess- A little girl attends a school her mom used to attend her mom is now deceased and her dad has to serve in the army. While there her dad died in the army so the school took all her belongings and started to mistreat her she became friends with a black girl who was an orphan. Later on she realized her dad is not dead and he had trouble remembering. The black girl was then adopted by the dad.

10. Mowgli- Mowgli was adopted by wolves in the jungle. Even though he was human, they treated him as part of the clan. Although he had problems adjusting to some things it was all he knew.

Adoption is such a brave and selfless act of love. I pray that many children going through the foster system would be placed in safe loving healthy homes. However, I hear thats not always the case. Thank you for placing your heart in such a raw area!
