To be fair the former Head of Secret Service WAS asked these questions and she refused to answer. This guy was 2nd in command and actually handled most of the requests made so its fair to ask him.

Sen. Cruz was asking the Acting Director - who was the Deputy Director at the time - for the exact number of agents assigned to each person. That's it. Yes, the sitting president is more important than a former one. But remember that this particular former president is also a major candidate, and will most likely be the next president. With that said, I agree with you about the number of agents being diff for each person. But the Director wouldn't, or couldn't answer the direct question. And again, he was the #2 agent of the Secret Service during all this. If the former director would know these answers, so should he. He wasn't picked out of a line agent and placed there. He simply moved his office down the hall.
Senators have 5 minutes to question a witness and try to get an answer. When the witness goes off into these details that don't answer the question - what they are doing is stalling. Just trying to filibuster until the clock runs out. Sen. Cruz is not the only one emotional during these hearings. People on both sides of the aisle are united in trying to get answers for the American people on how one of their Protectee's could have a successful attempt on their life. $3.5 billion budget, annually and they didn't have a drone in the air. Didn't ensure someone was on a roof only 150 yards from their target. The more they don't answer, the more conspiracy theories are going to appear. Personally, it looks like this was an intentional failure. Two weeks after the incident, and the big dog can't answer any questions only makes my suspicions rise.
Please look into Sen. Cruz, MrLboyd. I think you'll find that he's your kind of guy for the job.

the question Cruz wanted is what is the size difference.. the guy repeating there’s a difference doesn’t answer what is the size difference.. everyone both democrats and republicans questioning were getting emotional because it gets frustrating listening to ppl just not answer questions and refuse to give any information when they’re supposed to be giving these answers because the American ppl pay their salaries.. The 2023 Secret Service budget is over $2.8 Billion and employs about 6000 people. Besides financial crimes they are assigned to protect about 60 individuals.

A couple things have to be said, The SS director was deflecting rather than answering questions and you fell for it. He was specifically asked the ratio of agents between the ex-president and the current president, and the director would not answer that question.

It's a basic question that a director should be able to answer in a heartbeat. But if you watched the entire hearing, he did nothing but deflect and gaslight and moan about how unfair it was.
The emotion that Ted was showing at that moment was entirely appropriate having sat there and watched this man lie to everyone in the room for 3 hours. It has already been proven that they lied about refusing to increase security for Trump. And this entire event stinks... There are only two options left- they let it happen or they made it happen.

Have you forgotten that the secret service has been hiding the evidence of the Kennedy assassination for over 50 years? This is what they do, it's all they're known for.
