Short answer: Yes. But with a couple sacs left, definitely try and ace those first!

Hi everyone! I'm Darren, a second year med student studying at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. I graduated in 2020 with an ATAR of 99.95. This is another clip taken from my QnA video, and these questions are about rankings and study scores. Enjoy!

for methods, the research investigation rly took my grade down I got like 60% whilst people in my cohort that don’t usually get high in normal exam style sacs did way better than me. My second sac I got high 90’s, for this sac I should be ranked top 5 at least. Do you think I can still get over 45 raw or has that ship sailed 😭

I got 30% on my first extended investigation SAC which is below the lower half rank. Can I still get a 50 score ?

As a Chinese person who's not very good at Chinese (can only write and read very simple texts), do you recommend taking Chinese SL as a VCE subject? I've heard that it is very competitive and a lot of students are good at Chinese, despite being in SL.

Hey Darren,
Would you recommend studying with music? From your experience, or from people that you know, has it had a negative effect, a positive effect or no effect at all? I find studying with music motivating as I like to listen to music but I feel like doing so, will give an overall decrease in how much I am processing of the work I am doing. I have stopped listening to music when doing languages as the content is completely new to me, but when doing subjects like maths' where I am repeating a singular topic or type of question I find it a lot easier to study with music.

Hi Darren, if I do really well on one of the exams but with really bad sac rankings, would the VCAA people adjust my sac ranking based on my end of year exam results that I did really well on?

Hey Darren,
Currently doing Further 3/4 externally through VSV, and I really want to score above a 42 on my final exam but my SACs recently have not been going to plan. I know where i messed up and can definitely work hard to minimise as many errors as possible, but for now I want to know the logistics.

SAC 1 - 84%
SAC 2 - 90%
SAC 3 - 70%
SAC 4 - 85%

is it still POSSIBLE for me to get the score I want? or do the SACs make too much of a difference?
