Blizzard could implement artificial intelligence in to the game and change the player experience for both new and veteran players alike. But what exactly would this AI be used for?

I was skeptical when I read the title, but as I watched it made more sense. I feel like this is a development of the adventurer's guide, which in principle I like but the current iteration in-game feels like it's lacking a lot. Often it gives me recommendations that I just don't care about, and I can think of way better things to do that it never suggests. Furthermore the entirety of the new player experience sucks and needs a major rework.

Great ideas and great video. Sadly, I don't see them making an investment into these ideas anytime soon. Need some Product people there to watch this . We can only wish!

I would love it if they opened up new servers with autoplay. For instance, you can play for 1 hour and the AI will learn your play style, and then play 5 hours on its own. This is an example, but my idea is to allow for a certain amount of AI-played hours for each player-played hour.

This motivates the player to log in and actually play a bit, but doesn't make playing WoW as a collector, achievement hunter, etc. a full-time job... And importantly, it gets rid of the grind to get the best gear for each patch.

I am not for autoplay Mythic+ or raids, but why wouldn't they allow this for dailies, for example? You do them the first time yourself, and then you can instruct the AI to do them for you.

I have a second monitor on which I frequently watch YouTubers play WoW, as something in the background while I am working on something boring/easy, to have some noise and glance over from time to time. Now imagine if instead of YT, I had my own WoW character doing some daily chores while I work, and being able to glance over and see how he completed the dailies and got me some reputation with some faction, or some gold, or some BoE.

This style of play can be applied to anything non-competitive, i.e. that is not "sweaty content" — grinding old dungeons/raids, grinding dailies, completing quests in zones that you have already completed on another character, farming mobs for some items, etc. The characters can be clearly marked as AI-controlled while they are, and then you can just take the wheel when you feel like it or just for some things that are most enjoyable or engaging for you... This depends on the person, but I guess for most people this would be Mythic+, Heroic/Mythic raiding, or just hanging out in capital cities and socializing.
