In this video, Brian Reese the VA Claims Insider discusses the highly anticipated 2024 VA Disability Pay Chart! We break down all the key details about the estimated 2024 VA Disability Pay Rates that will come into effect on December 1, 2023. It's projected that there will be a 3.1% COLA increase in VA disability rates for the CY 2024, giving disabled veterans some much-needed support.

We'll also dive into the nitty-gritty of how the 2024 Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) increase estimate is calculated. This estimate, which takes into account the latest Consumer Price Index data from July 2023, plays a crucial role in determining the financial adjustments for disabled veterans.

An easier way to do the math. Just add 3.1% to your currently monthly VA disability payment.

Yeah, and VR and E plus Chapter 35 Dependent cola are both getting 6.2% in their increase. Why not across the board???

And people might say well that's ok for them. But think about it... If you have the Post 9/11 Gi Bill with one month remaining and you want to continue your education and roll over to VR and E you can still elect to keep the Post 9/11 bah rate, however it won't matter because if you are going to college online the newest bah payment for Aug 1 was up to $1, 110 per month. Now, that means even if you chose to take one class in person you can get the bah rate for your zip code. But, you still will not see the 6.2% pay raise in the bah if you roll over from Post 9 11. It truly won't matter.

Brian, 3.1 is estimated at this time. With gas prices and food prices as they are, the increase could be as high as 3.5%

Great news. It's also bigger than my COLA raise for my county job. I'm waiting for the Club 100 express ticket to come this year. Time for a newer truck!

Just getting started with these folks but I AM HIGHLY IMPRESSED. Shout out to Michael Smith, my coach!!! He actually cares and he keeps up to date with my appointments and progress.
These people actually care.

The VA should avg the yearly US inflation, not just July - September to make disability increases. At this time the annual inflation of the US is 4.5% not 3.1%.

My 10% service connected disability payment is $165.92 which is what the official VA payment shows online... not the $166.23 as you show. Also the 3.1% would be $170 rather than the $171 you show.

I'm getting $2576.39 for a disability rating of 90% with spouse and 2 kids under the age of 18.

I'm also getting $128.62 for special monthly compensation for ED.

Does the COLA adjustment affect only the $2576.39 pay or will I also get a COLA increase on the $128.62 for special monthly compensation pay?

Hi Brian, How are you doing ? I have a question . I know someone who has now a 100% permanant, and total, but before they received their 100%, they had place other claims in and now waiting on the decisions for claims . My question is will they or could receive back pay for those claims once service connected ? Thank you
