@RedHotChiliBumz No, they're more like super powerful attacks that are generally difficult to land, but deal a good chunk of damage, with the strongest dealing roughly 2/3s of the opponent's HP.

I might be crazy but i have to admit it...Dan's Legendary Taunt just rocks...-if someone pulls that super off...u just have to wait til he finishes and then continue the match. LOL

i always thought it was genius to include a really weak, comical character to Street Fighter. Also gives a natural handicap if there's a much more skilled person playing a noob.

Dan has been badass from Alpha 3 days. His only crappy super was his Shinkuu Gadouken. His other supers were hardcore.

Actually, he still a super taunt combo, it's quarter circle quarter circle plus taunt, he also has a super combo.

@jhniscolV2 Actually no he isn't a Ryu parody he is a parody of the Art of Fighting games. When the Art of Fighting released it's character Ryo (an obvious play on Ryu) with a fireball move, uppercut, a red gi like kens and blonde hair Capcom were a little pissed but since most of the street fighter characters were based off Japanese mythology there was no copyright to the mythologies. As a result they made Dan to mock Ryo by giving him a similar moveset to Ryu and gave him Robert Garcia's face.

Dan was always built as a 'dummy' character. He originally was designed just to be fun to lose matches with. But more hardcore SF players managed to get him into top-tier status. Most likely by trouncing people who suck at the game, rather than other legitimate contenders with stronger character selections.

I'm no where near a top-tier player, so Dan's typically not viable. Not in SFA3, anyway. I haven't played SF4 yet.
