Korean Air A380-861 (HL7611) - Prestige Class (Upper Deck) Walk Through

This clip was taken about 20 minutes after take-off, as the crew was getting the cabin ready for our first meal. I start at the back of the cabin at the Celestial Bar and walk forward to my seat in the first row of the upper deck. I have another video which shows what the Celestial Bar looks like during the flight; in this clip, because we had just taken off, everything was still put away.

I flew KE81 A380 service between ICN and JFK. It was absolutely superb. Best flight ever and I have had hundreds.

@Kobe, Yeah, they've been running A380 service to Atlanta for a few months now, but it looks like they're discontinuing it and going back to the 777. I was looking at flying that route in the summer and it shows up on their website as a B777 at that time. I ended up booking via SFO, though (also a B777, ) since it was significantly cheaper.

Hi. Yes, the upper deck is entirely business class and was probably only 50% full, at best. The lower deck is economy class and was 100% full. First class is also on the lower deck and it was only 50% full, too. This was filmed on July 10, 2012. However, when I returned at the end of July, business class was almost 100% full and economy class was also 100% full. Not sure why the difference - maybe because I flew on a Tuesday which is typically not as busy. This was Los Angeles to Seoul.

Value is relative, obviously. For me, it's very much worth it, but I happen to be a huge aviation enthusiast and flying, in general, is a lot of fun for me. But for others, it's all just about getting from A to B -- so it depends on what your interests are. There's lots of little perks, but probably the biggest deal is the huge amount of space (and lie flat bed) that you get, which is important to me on 12+ hour flight. It's all about the total experience, and that's a relative thing for people

I flew on the a380 economy class and enjoyed it, I thought the seats were fine. However, I am now considering another flight in prestige, but it is $2500 extra. Do you think it is worth it? It sure doe look nice in the video... How about the food? Do you think there is any difference. thanks

The food/service is better, but are those two things worth $2500 extra? Probably not. I happen to be someone who loves flying, so I measure the value of the experience differently. For instance, I love hanging out in business class lounges (LAX sucks, but Hong Kong and BKK and Seoul are cool), so that has value to me, too. I love sleeping on lie flat beds and hanging out with my iPad and having drinks in the SkyLounge in Prestige. For me, all in all, it's a big thrill and for others its not.

I was on a 777 korean air to seoul 14hrs flight duration, . Right when i came back I heard that they will be starting a380 flights from Atlanta to seoul. Dang

The screens on the Prestiege seats look pretty far away and kinda small . i really think they should lower the price for Prestiege class, becasue the price difference between ecomomy is huge .. i payed £750 for an ecomomy seat to seoul from London Heathrow, next is paying £2, 000 - £3, 000 Pounds for prestiege ( Business Calss ) seats. And what do you really get for that extra £1250 - £2250 , If you have money to burn then i guess this is for you haha but for me il never see one of these seats in my life time !
