Russian Court Denies Appeal to Release Evan Gershkovich

A Moscow court denied an appeal to release American journalist Evan Gershkovich, who has been detained in Russia on espionage charges. He was arrested in March while on a reporting assignment for the Wall Street Journal. In April a court ruled that he must stay behind bars until at least late August, but the U.S. filed an appeal to have him released sooner. Gershkovich has denied the charges against him.
