Budget dining in Singapore- We spent one week eating only at NETT pricing restaurants.

After having a pretty expensive month spending too much on travel and other expenses, we decided to challenge ourselves (if you could even call it a challenge...) to only eat at places that did not charge GST or service charge additionally to the price you see on the menu (aka nett pricing). Here in Singapore GST (goods and services tax) is 7% and service charge is 10%. And those percentages can really add up your total bill...

It wasn't too much of a challenge as there are a TON of inexpensive food options to begin with in Singapore, such as any stall at your local hawker centre. But we wanted to get as much variety as we could exploring different types of cuisine and price points. Stay to the end and you can find out how much we saved in total if the restaurants we went to DID have GST and service charge.

Enjoy!

Hmm GST's are usually included into the price, I don't see how you guys save on GST.
