I don't think everyone realizes how absolutely perfect this song is. Especially if you are a musician. The vocals, the instruments, the entire production on this song...just phenomenal.

To God be the glory that I'm still alive, to be saying this !!!!

Played this for my 6 year old Grandson, while taking him home to Georgia. when the song ended he said Ummm Gpapi. You have to run that back and play it again!!. In shock i asked... What did you say!!. Again he said RUN THAT BACK. So for the next 4 hours. We play the Stylistics, The commodores, The Ohio Players and many old schools Jamz!. Another younger hooked.

I am 65, white, grew with Motown being the closest music to my heart . In those days the black singers and musicians weren't always treat so well . Their music reflects the oppression of society against them but at the same time their love for one another .
I imagine that more white men got rich with their music than the actual performers . I can see how rap has replaced these beautiful sounds of angels voices . Why cater to the people who hold you down when your own people can't afford your concerts and recordings ?
I think it's a shame because I think on average there has always been better music from the black community than the white and their music is more open to imagination and change .

Now that I'm a full grown adult, I totally overstand why my Father use to play this over and over when I was ten years old after my Mother left him for another man, my Father was heartbroken. I get it now, this song is a major Classic, lyrics and beats with amazing soul felt vocals and delivery, they don't make em like this no mo

I grew up listening to these classics and I am honored to be able to say I know good music. Glad I was born a 70's baby.💞

I'm only 22 years old but at a very young age I told myself I was born in the wrong era bc the music we have is alright but nothing compared to REAL SOUL R&B like this. I love The Stylistics, The O'Jays, Isley Brothers, Zapp and Roger, Rick James, James Brown, Luther Vandross, Bootsy Collins, Natalie Cole, Anita Baker, I LOVE IT ALL.

My friend use to play this over and over hoping his children’s mother would return. She dropped their four year old son off at his mom house in 1992 and never saw him again. No one could find her until their son found her page on facebook. She still hasn’t responded to him. He’s is 32 now.
