Wolverine - Why Yellow Costume?

The yellow suit is iconic.

Outside of Cyclops wanting him to wear it, why the yellow costume?

In previous Wolverine stories, it was stated Wolverine wears bright colors to make himself a target, drawing enemy fire away from civillians.

It was also intended for crowds to know who the heroes were during moments of chaos and confusion.

In Wolverine’s case, the mask is particularly helpful since many of his fights are gorey and it prevents his hair from getting messy.

For the MCU, the President of Marvel and Ryan Reynolds were in agreement the only way Hugh could return is if he wore the yellow suit. Thankfully it wasn’t shortlived and it was what he wore the entire film.

I bet next movie we see X-23 wear her own version.

It's the same logic for Batman's yellow emblem, it looks like a target but it's the most armored part of his suit

The color palette for his suit is also reversed compared to the regular X-men uniforms. Most of the other X-men wear Blue and Yellow, while Wolverine wears Yellow and Blue.

deadpool and wolverine is one of the only recent movies ive seen where the heroes actually wear their costume for the whole movie (and deadpool even wears his mask 99% of the time unlike most superhero movies for whatever reason) instead of for like 15 minutes in the last part of the film.

Also fun fact :- Cyclops dress is blue and yellow too but blue is prominent and Wolverine's is opposite where yellow is prominent showing their rivarly

It also is nearly the colors of the University of Michigan. Their mascot is the wolverine as Michigan is the Wolverine State.
