The fact it went so quick and she was so confident means that your work was noticed and impressive. You're in trouble when they start to ask question after question.

Keep in mind you do these things for the safety of your home, not to pass the inspection ❤

So happy that all went well, but don't think your extra work was in vain. Ultimately the setup is safer for you and your family.
and you called em receptacles.. I'm so proud of you! Keep smiling! :)

She saw the work quality so didn't go crazy

Congrats on the inspection! However if you compare American electrical systems with the ones we use in Europe (or at least in Germany), the American system looks absolute trash.
All metal boxes and metal conduet, ground fault protection on the sockets and loose stapled wires?! Here we have everything in fire retardend PVC conduet, ground fault protection at the fusebox (the entire house has to be ground fault protected @30mA). Our standard wire size is 2, 5mm2 copper wire and since we have 230V standard, this is rated for +/- 3600watt per breaker/outlet.
Need more power? We also have 3-fase 230V (400V between the fases) which can be used to power a single device up to 17.000 watts! (usually a big induction cooking plate or so)

That's the thing about most inspections, making small talk and having a neat install is probably 80% of your inspection. It really goes a long way when they come in and it's obvious you've done your homework and made a valiant effort. Most of us electricians LOVE those kinds of inspections. As far as the NEC codes go, in NC (and many other states) they can sometimes take 2 years to accept and start enforcing the new code books, so the fact that your already on top of new codes is definitely a feather in your cap. She noticed your work, believe me. Very nice

Yeah if you do the GFCI outlets, it only has to be the first outlet in the circuit, as it protects all the downstream outlets if they draw their power from the load side of the GFCI outlet. So any regular outlet downstream of the GFCI can trip that GFCI. Where you place it is up to you, whether it's first in the circuit, fourth in the circuit, wherever, but you don't need multiple GFCI's in the same circuit just so you know.

glad you passed - sorry she didnt notice the extra care, but you did a good job and you have peace of mine knowing where you live is electrically safe.

inspectors are all over the place, glad this one was lax!

You're thinking wrong about it Panda, if things are done correctly then the inspector won't notice anything to complain about, then if you leave some exposed wire on the wall the inspector will spot it when he/she walks past it.
Also you never know what kind of inspector you get, could've been someone much more picky.
Lastly, you don't do all those things correctly JUST to pass the inspection, but also for it all to be safe for you and family.

Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make Mistake but they don’t quit... As the economic crisis keep rising, we literally need to have different streams of income. The crypto market has plenty opportunities to earn a decent Payouts with the right skills and proper Understanding of how the market works.

Congrats Panda!! I bet she saw more than you realize without having to make it obvious. I do A LOT of inspections for our Audio/Video company. Sometimes an inspector will bring something up on a 2nd visit that I never even saw him look at on the 1st visit. Great job my friend!

Watching your video made me think, Damn Panda learned a lot during all this + look at the Electrical Skillset you gained. Bravo!

Maybe she was confident with you that was why she didn't check any further... Maybe she had done loads of time to the point that she already know you would be okay. But regardless, you do it for yourself so yeah... Inspections/audits are needed because some people couldn't be bothered.

My experience is that, if you have an install that is organized and thoughtful, and they don’t see any obvious problems in key areas, they don’t nitpick past that. Especially experienced inspectors can tell if you have gone through the effort to do it to code because they know the common mistakes they see from people who were winging it. A short inspection means you did a really good job 👍🏻

RPM read my perverse post I told you inspection is mainly for the electrical panel, also note when an inspector is inspecting a certified installer work they do not check every little thing, that’s why I stated in my previous post don’t tell them anything that you did or they will actually do a full inspection.

Hey RP, you should NOT be disappointed in the xtra work. I have bought and sold MANY houses. You never know, someday crypto will go to the moon again and you may have to upgrade to another house. When you go to sell this one, you'll have your electrical completely sorted and a buyer will see this, and when someone buys a house they always get an inspection. You con't want the buyer's inspector to find things, because that costs you money. The xtra work you did is NOT a waste. You had a good inspection and your electrical system is in great shape. This is cause for celebration on both counts.

She's there to find things wrong not compliment everything you did right 😆

i think she see that you are geniune and open, seen your electrical connections are very tidy she didnt spend time too much to see other things. It looks all good my friend!

Inspectors aren't there to look over all of the wiring - only the major things - like your service panels. Unless they see major issues they expect you know what you are doing on the individual circuits. They are busy and 20-30min per site is common with maybe only 15min on site. I've had a couple of inspections and one friend who did inspections for the city. What you experienced is the norm, though it will vary a lot by jurisdiction (city, county, state, country). Also varies by inspector, some have specific things they like to look for and make sure are done correctly. Most are helpful too, they don't want to fail you and have to come back out! In an older house that originally wasn't grounded but later had a ground wire run to hot water line (before we moved in), I made some updates and the inspector wanted a bonding wire between the hot and cold water lines. I was able to add that right in front of him and got it signed off. That wasn't part of the electrical changes I made but better grounding more important than the handful of circuits I added.

You gave her no reason to fail you. Looks is key. She can see it's done well.
