High brake light failure - Aygo, Citoren C1, Peugeot 107

They aren't diodes, just bulbs it's clearly lack of maintenance

Got to be the most useless waste of 42 secs I've seen in a long time.

Use a bit of silicone grease on the gasket and on the bulb sockets when you put it back, and it won't leak

Is it due to corrosion caused by leaks? The light uses four 501 / W5W type lamps. In my experience, the foam gasket doesn't spring back into shape and is even more likely to leak if you remove the light to change a bulb. Hi from C1OC by the way :)
