Thank you! 25 years of seeing this play out in an agency. Each employee now does the work that 3 or 4 did when i started. Its no surprise that there is a lot of frustration and floundering.

I am with DOVA, and work in Direct patient care…hiring freezes are disastrous for us..I’ve been with DOVA since 2008 and ever facility I’ve work at has been chronically short staffed which is very detrimental to patient care

There are millions of veterans who rely on the VA for care and the less staff we have the more mishaps, negative outcomes etc occur

The general public doesn’t truly understand that in critical agencies, shortages have a direct impact on them

I just recieved a TO yesterday and was feeling very iffy about accepting in the first place, mostly because I don't feel quite ready to leave my current job and the position wasn't what I thought it would be. But this seems like something to steer clear of anyway, and try again some other time

I am interested in applying to the Bureau of Prisons as a correctional officer. How would a potential hiring freeze impact me? Would I need to wait until the freeze is lifted, or would this position, being critical, remain unaffected? I’m a bit lost and scared because I don’t want to miss this opportunity.
