Have you tried weighing them. Cause the weight of your robot can really matter.

I've always wanted to 3d print custom Lego parts for my builds but wasn't sure how strong it would be. Great video!

Nice video! did you print the parts in PLA? That would be a good explanation why they are so brittle and snap. Lego bricks are made out of ABS, a plastic that is more flexible and stretches before it breaks.

They'll always be cheap and easy to replace as well though

A blend of 3D print and lego would be the smart move. Like a lego gearbox or linkage inside a 3D printed shell. And
Maybe some other engineered slots for stronger materials to be inserted. Have a channel that you insert a carbon fibre tube into and glue in place.

3d printing is best for special parts lego does not make...example i adapt a 3d mesh of a car i like with lego connection then 3d print those parts...lego functionality with exterior proper looking vehicles. Liked your vid shows the possibility to new comers :)

Hello, nice video but I want to give you a suggestion because from my point of view the strength comparison between 3D prints in PLA and original Lego parts made out of ABS is far to be fair. So I would say that it will be a good idea to reprint the 3D parts using a filament like ABS or at least some PLA+ ( which is more strength than simple PLA) or PETG or even better PLA+ / PETG armed with fiber carbon and afterwards redo the comparison test. Best regards !

Question: Are the 3d printed parts cheaper than originals, material + energy considered?
Also qustion: Have you considered making lego parts that can fit standard screws and washers?

The 3D printer beam break more easily because of the direction it is printed, you want it to be print along the konger side and not along the short sides
