So many YouTubers say you don't need to count calories, just eat until full. Ya that did not work for me at all.

3 great tips but I will say that the second one is the one that I have tripped over time and time again. If I messed up, and I did, I would give up. I would get so down on myself, wondering "why" I couldn't do it right. Now I do mess up but I get back on track and try to make it by the next meal, not next day or next month or in the New Year. That has helped me a lot. Love your videos, tips, cooking and your ebooks. Thanks for helping us all. Also want to wish your and your family a very Merry Christmas!

You are spot on!!! Agree with you. I'm excited that you're level of thinking is really true. I Iike broccoli over zucchini but eating plant based is key. And the carb cravings do go away right away❤🎉🎉 bless you!!! Stay strong 😊

I would love it if you could do a video sharing what you do to remain motivated in eating this way. I have been trying to follow along with you, but it's easy for me to lose sight of the longer-term goal of losing weight in favor of eating something yummy today!

About the last point you stated, the reason it seems like you can eat as much as you want as long as you’re plant based is because whole plant foods low in fat tend to be lower in calories and higher volume. It’s the low calorie content that helps with weight loss. Not the food quality. You can’t break the laws of thermodynamics.

You have been a very helpful voice of wisdom for me. Stumbling on your video about overt fats was a game changer for me, to take a look at how many cashews and avocados I was eating, and realizing how many calories I was getting from those two things. Since I've cut those out/way back, I have finally been losing weight and still eating lots of starch to satiety. The bean thing is true for me. I have endometriosis, which messes with my digestion for 1 week of every month, sigh. So part of the month I definitely canNOT have beans. And then I have to spend a few days slowly increasing my bean intake and then I love beans! They are so great for keeping me full and stabilizing my bloodsugar. I just can't 100% do what any one person recommends. But you have had some really helpful advice, thank you! And for those who can't have beans sometimes, or all the time, I have found a few things I can have, like edamame, and peas, and tofu. These all do a pretty good job of subbing for beans during those times when I can't have beans. Thank you so much Stasia!

Before I educated myself on proper deficits, I arbitrarily picked 1500 calories. After the fact, I found that was a 12 to 1300 deficit. I lost 30 lbs in 12 weeks which was much too fast. Too much muscle loss plus I didn't give my aging skin time to acclimate. I wish I'd have done 1 lb a week. At 70 it's going to be next to impossible to gain back the muscle.
