Reggie Young played the original guitar part to Memphis Soul Stew and not Cornell Dupree. Cornell Dupree played guitar on other versions of this track and also on Summer Dream which is like the same sort of guitar part. Check out My King Curtis site on Facebook.

This bit is great but imo the best part is the rhythm funk line from Cornell Dupree that comes after on the live version
