If the father says my son goes to football practice then he pays for it and if the mother says my son is going to karate or anything then she pays for it. And it would be best if the kids were swapping on a weekly basis. 1 week with dad 1 week with mom

Child support is intended to ensure the basic needs of the child are met. That means a roof over their head, food on the table, clothing on their backs. Medical expenses should be shared. Other expenses can be negotiated but are not what child support is for.
The rest of the argument she is making is immaterial.
I do not believe child support should be eliminated, but if the custodial parent is not using it to ensure those other three things are taken care of, then maybe they should not be the custodial parent.

I thought joint custody meant both parents get a voice in the decision? If one parent already has the money is it really a joint decision?

Child support is the non custodial portion needed, together with an equal portion from the custodial parent. This becomes a problem because that total amount was never spent on the kid to begin with!

That's absoliutely right . However, you are divorced so it is simple, your child, your money, your choice. If EITHER party disagrees with the other parent on a non required expense they don't have to contribute. Simple. Glasses are a necessity IF they need them so that's not a valid example, just FYI.

I strongly agree with child support. However, it should be treated like taxes at the end of the year. You need to justify what you did with the child support

That is so damn simple .... when he has them he supplies everything and when she has them she pays for everything and actual medical dental and eye care are split down the middle... I have everything my kids need at my house .... clothes shoes everything and I don't send it with him when they leave ...their mom has everything as well .... if u want to put them in extracurricular activity then that one pays for it and whoever has the child takes them to that practice

This is why you CAN'T DIVORCE from a partner you share a child with. Unless they completely abandon you and the child, that person is in your life, FOR LIFE, andvthey are in it AOLT until they grow up.

So the woman, on her own can decide if she is going to have an abortion without the man's consent. But if she keeps it the man has to pay support. What if the man wants an abortion?
