Custom-built POLO filter systems by POLO filter technology offer a wide range of fleece filters. They differ in size, design and throughput rate. Various designs are feasible depending on the application. Here we will explain the basic function which is the same for all POLO fleece filters: The contaminated liquid is transported pressure-free via pipelines to the filter unit. The in-flow disperser slows the speed of the medium and prevents turbidity in the filter bed. This also ensures that shavings and contaminants are distributed evenly over the fleece. The filter cake which builds up aids in increasing purification considerably by creating an additional filter layer. The dirt particles slow down the medium flow, causing the fluid level to rise. At a pre-set level a floating switch triggers the advance of the fleece. The fleece advances just enough to lower the fluid level again. The filtration process is not interrupted during fleece advance so no buffer tank is needed. The cleaned medium flows into a clean tank and is pumped back to your machine tools via one or more discharge pumps. The filter cake with the dirt particles and the used filter fleece are dropped into a dirt box.
