Today we are having a bit of fun and going through another article saying what trends should stop wearing and what to wear instead! Obviously we should all wear what makes us happy, trend or not, and I'm mainly going through this just for a bit of fun! :) I like to also highlight articles/things like this in case anyone does feel like they have to stop wearing something because it's considered "outdated"! I talked at the beginning of the year about tiktoks that highlight what you should be wearing and what to "throw away" and how it can be exhausting and I haven't been engaging with content like that since, but decided to see what people are saying regarding fashion trends just for some entertainment! Don't take anything in the article too seriously!

These articles need to stop. No one needs to stop wearing anything, especially if it was popular just last year. It's just wasteful.

My one fear with articles like this is that the 'out of style' items might become harder to find if people believe no one wants to buy them anymore. I do think less people pay attention to fashion articles these days. I think people follow their own niche fashion icons on social media instead.

I've been wearing the same "trend" since the 1970's. High rise jeans and white tee shirts. This outfit never goes out of style.

I think these trends are just a way to get people to buy more clothes that we dont need! Trends are fun for inspo, but arent hard rules. I wish everyone would just wear things that look good on their body and reflect their own style. Wear the jeans that flatter your height, body shape etc and you'll look great! Put some effort into thrifting your own style, like you do, and be yourself! 😊❤

Alexa really topped all of my fashion expectations when she revealed that tube tops come in waves (instead of the tubes that I thought that would have come in).

That is so telling that someone said to wear bucket hats and someone said not to in the same article. There's no right answer! The idea to replace a hat with a shirt is pretty bizarre though, like they don't even remotely serve the same purpose.

Yes, please do an updated jean collection video! I'm always confused on the difference between mom jeans, dad jeans and boyfriend jeans.

As someone with a short torso, the cropped top trend has been amazing with highrise bottoms. It doesn't have to be belly out, but it has a nice balance. That said, I am not built for tube tops - I can't get away with going braless and the shelf bras they come with are just not it for me personally. And strapless bras are the invention of the devil.

Comfort over fashion will always be my style. With crop tops being a trend for several years, I’ve had such a hard time finding tops because I don’t feel good or comfortable in them. Just wear what you want! 💜 “Trends” need to stop being a trend. 🤣

To beat the trends cycle, save a sterilite bin of all your best fitting, favorite "out" items. Then, when they come back into style, you already have them!!! It really doesn't take that much room. Admittedly, I live in a house in the Midwest, not a Manhattan apartment, but I have the best of 30 years' worth of trends in 3 tubs.
Next, mini cross body bags are for going out to clubs, bigger bags are for every day, and if you are somewhere with your kids or just need a lot of stuff, the backpack is the most comfortable way to lug all the stuff you need. There is a place for ALL of them. Not everyone can wear stiletto heals, nuff said.
Honestly, the farther you get in life, the farther you get into your own style, the more you know what works for you, the less you are willing to bend to trends. At 50, I actually like most trends and have worn most tends. There are ones I never will wear again. There are ones I will never give up, and there are ones that are MY classics and are always in my wardrobe. It is ok to wear trends if you like them. I like trends because they shake me out of fashion ruts, but I don't feel you have to wear something just because it is trendy or stop wearing something because it isn't. Change is good, but knowing yourself is good too. Fashion should be fun if it isn't for you don't participate, there is no law that you have to be trendy.

I would love to see a video on styling dresses to look casual. I know it's obvious for a lot of people, but I'm not a big dress-wearer and I really only wear them to work or more formal events, so it feels weird to me to just... wear a dress to hang out. It feels like trying too hard or something for me and I'd like to learn more about how to make sure it reads casual.

i find articles like this so funny because the current brands showing their new collections during fashion month are showcasing everything that is "in" or "out" in this articles, im seeing on the runwats fitted bottoms, baggy everything, skinny jeans, small bags, big bags, bucket hats, everything fitted, and much more so there really isnt anything trendy to me because everything is

When you said skip the block heel and wear stilettos, I said "nuh uh!" I am clumsy enough as it is without trying to balance in a skinny heel!

I've never stopped loving big bags. I like the look of small ones but for daily use they are not practical and I will always choose my bigger bags instead.

I would love to see your jean collection!!! Thanks for the fun video. I agree with what you kept saying… wear what you are comfy in!

Pastels in favor of jewel tones makes sense because of the seasons. In the northern hemisphere it’s summer, in the southern hemisphere it’s winter. Both seasons favor pastels over dark jewel tones. And switching out chunky heels makes since, for the northern hemisphere because chunky designs can feel heavy and hot. Same concept with favoring quiet luxury or minimalist style over maximalism. The more colors, patterns and accessories the heavier or hotter the style appears.

Most of these fashion trends are just seasonal. By September the Halloween vibes will kick in and jewel toned whimsigoth style will be back in trend, along with more knits/crochet and chunky shoes.

I predict that dark muted tones might become fashionable this fall as the quiet luxury trend evolves for the colder and darker months.

And along with the resurgence of the 2010 fashion trends, I imagine “business casual” with a quiet luxury feel will become trendy as well this fall and winter.

Also, a lot of these trend cycles depend on what fashion subgroup you’re apart of too. Maxi skirts have been a fairly popular trend among the alternative/indie fashion community for awhile now. While mini skirts have been pretty popular among the mainstream fashion industry.

It’s all seasonal and sub cultures.

I love how you are not into jewel tones but the rack behind you matches the pulled picture lol relatable

It’s always interesting to see what is trending in main stream style. In alternative subcultures, the trends are usually opposite from the main stream, which makes a lot of sense, but I do see some of the main stream trends trickling into specifically the Gothic subculture. As someone who dresses in an alternative style who still enjoys this channel, this list saying “timeless style and less trendy”, seems about right because alt styles are actually pretty timeless. You can wear a 90s goth or a 00s mall goth or a trad look and still feel “current”. Wish mainstream style didn’t make people feel like they hate their wardrobes so much. Play dress up, have fun!
