I'm so happy that chris pointed it out, It might not be the greatest of all the three movies but when u look at it as its own movie it is really fine, doesn't deserve all the bad reviews its been getting.

As a huge Ninjago fan since 2011, I loved this movie. But I understand how casual viewers might not appreciate the work put into this movie. The TV show is much better then it needs to be, so I'd definitely recommend it. ;)

As someone who grew up with lines like Bionicle, it's disheartening that this movie isn't doing well, because that's essentially what it is to the kids growing up today. This would be like if a big budget Bionicle theatrical movie was released in my day. I was so looking forward to seeing what this movie would mean for the future, to see it prove that Lego's original IPs are strong enough to stand on their own, that they aren't ONLY good at commenting on things that already exist that other people made. If this movie did well, we could expect them to put more focus on their own original properties. Now though.... nope. Its just licensed stuff from here on out. Just great.

Ninjago was a fun movie (and because I'm a movie-sobber I teared up a little bit). Nothing as good as LEGO Batman and the LEGO movie, but a lot more entertaining than other movies that have come out this year.

lego batman movie: "well, at least we've got the lego ninjago movie."

I know it's late but I believe Death Note by Netflix deserves to be in the Hilariocity category. Just needed to say that.

You should do a Captain Underpants review. It was easily one of the best animated films this year.

While I don't think this movie shouldn't have been made, I do think LEGO should've went into this a bit wiser- with production, advertisement then release.

If they released the movie on a smaller scale in select theaters or made it direct-to-DVD and Bluray the turnout could be better in terms of loss of profits. But hey, I suppose it's too early to say.

I really want that Sailor Moon t-shirt. It looks really cool and it was the only thing I was focused on the whole video.

What's up, Chris!? The first 2 Lego Movies definitely surprised me as well. I think I enjoyed the original Lego Movie most though. I haven't seen this one just yet but I was wondering the same thing. One thing that all 3 have in common are the visuals. Like I said, I haven't seen this one just yet but you can just tell. Unfortunately, I can see this franchise being run into the ground with 10+ films lol I heard the 4th one is going to be The Lego People Vs. OJ Simpson.

I'll see it soon but...I have to see Stronger first lol Great review, man!

I actually really liked this movie. The story’s almost complete focus on Lloyd and his father was sad and heartwarming. I really felt sympathy for Lloyd. He was just a kid wanting to do right, but he was screwing up. Like in the scene where he’s watching his friends getting destroyed by the cat and he’s shouting and tearing up because he knows it’s all his fault. That got me. Lord Garmadon was really funny and fun to watch. The themes of parents and father/son bond were nicely done.

I do all have faults, though. The rest of the characters were really pushed aside to make way for the Lloyd story. They had little to no development. The first half was really cheesy, basically formulaic. I figured they would be smart about it and point out the tropes and cliches but they never did. They just followed the formula. The animation, although beautiful and I still very much like it, doesn’t feel entirely LEGO. The characters move more like animated characters and not legos, if you catch my drift. They’re not as blocky and stop motion-like as seen in The LEGO Movie. This film definitely didn’t need to be done in LEGO, it could’ve worked fine without that style. Which makes it less unique but not bad overall.

In the end, I’m glad I saw the movie as someone who grew up watching the show. Speaking of the show, i don’t mind that they took the movie in a different direction from the show. As Jackie Chan said in the beginning of the movie, this is the legend behind the legend of Ninjago. This is a new story from the one we already know from the show. “To truly see it, you must see it in a different perspective.” I took this as the film telling us that we need to accept this movie as a new story different from the show.

I really liked the Ninjago cartoon a lot so I probably will enjoy this movie a bit more than some people. I don't expect it to be as good as Lego movie or Lego Batman Movie
