So What's Happened With XDefiant? (Future In Jeopardy?)

It's been a long time since we talked about XDefiant here on the channel, actually, just over a month since we last published a video on XDefiant. Frankly, that's because not much has been going on with the game. A few minor updates here and there, a new map, but as we're deep into Season 1, pushing towards Season 2, in the grand scheme of things, it's a relatively quiet time for the game but now that the Black Ops 6 beta has concluded, we've got some downtime before launch, I do think now's a perfect time to dive back in and bring you up to speed on a few things because it has been, for the game as a whole, kind of a rollercoaster according to some reports. Today we're talking about behind the scenes reports, free bonuses happening in game right now, the future and what there may be on the horizon... I love XDefiant, it’s my go-to FPS. I play almost every weekend with friends and family when I have free time. Fingers crossed this game doesn’t go anywhere.

It’s the hit detection. Simple as that. Can’t expect people to play a shooting game where the shooting doesn’t work

This is still a game I play from time to time while waiting for season 2. XDefiant brought back a passion for FPS that I haven’t felt in years and if this game gets cancelled then all my hope for fps games is officially gone

the reason i stopped playing xdefiant is just that there's nothing to do really other than just. play
the camo grind is shit cuz its just time based so it doesnt feel engaging to go for the camo's at all
there's barely any new content so most of the time it feels like im playing on maps that i played on for months already

there's just genuinely nothing to do, and with bo6 coming up the only thing that would get me to play xdefiant after its launch is maybe the no sbmm but thats not enough for me to constistently keep playing it

I had de-sync issues in this game that made it unplayable. I would be several hitmarkers into someone that wasnt looking at me and then die within 2 frames of them turning on me

@Espresso if you purchased a founders pack you will never see a major challenge. The major challenges are the new factions each season. People like me who bought a founders pack Auto Unlock the new faction when the season launches.

I predicted before launch that Xdefiant would die like halo infinite. Both are F2P games that released unfinished and desync issues and no progression system at launch.

I feel like they're targeted player base that doesn't like sbm and stuff is the same people that don't like microtransactions. Also my big turn off was ranked play I was so disappointed in it the max amount of RP to be gained in a match is so low it's unbearable to play

The biggest issue with Xdefiant for me is it’s lack of identity and soul.

In spite of all the dumb cosmetic stuff, cod pretends (somewhat) that it’s grounded in military. Xdefiant is…nothing. There’s no core identity. It’s just a mess of mediocre Ubisoft properties (and Splinter cell)

I don’t want to play a “Ubisoft shooter” I want to play a Military shooter.


Doesn’t help that the game itself doesn’t feel very good. Animations are incredibly stiff and inconsistent in quality, the game is lacking a ton of modes and trying to be like Cod without a perk or kill streak system is like… just having boneless cod

Why would Ubisoft NOT put the man power behind this game? Those numbers were crazy for them to just let slip away. I don't know if ANY of there other games enjoy those numbers, wild that that wasn't enough to sway the suits to allocate more resources. Edit: giving away premium currency SCREAMS "please come back to our game!" lmao that's some desperation.

The abilities/factions killed it for me. It’s too much in 6v6, constantly being pinged through walls and having unkillable spiderbots jump on my face wasn’t fun. just want the simplicity of old CoD. Primary, secondary, lethal, tactical, 3 perks.

I returned to MW2 and BO1/2.

You can really see an AB comparison between a game with really slow updates vs a game with weekly tweaks and updates between XDefiant and The Finals

The game simply needs more content. After finishing the battle pass weeks ago, there is nothing left that I really care to play for. I will play when Season 2 releases but it is going to be competing with Madden, FC 25 and NHL 25 by then.

I hope this game gets the support it needs. I rather enjoy this game. There is something satisfying about it and i continue to log on each day and play. I don’t want it to die.

I'm actually loving it. Warzone has lost me as a player and Black Ops 6 looks ridiculous. I just want to play some straight up old fashioned multiplayer and XDefiant is 100% my go to FPS. I'm loving the simplicity of it. If I want depth I go play Destiny 2. I just introduced a couple of friends to XDefinat who also love it as being something fresh and different from COD. They also loved that its free to play!
