I think the role of the GPU is a bit overtstated. Nothing will beat the power of CPU encoding decoding H264 H265 in Kaby lake without need to travel back and forth the pcie lane to the GPU. Of course there are some codecs more GPU intensive like CineForm

Will this laptop able to edit and render 4K video without any lag? if so how long does it take to render a 5 minutes video? Thanks in advance.

Mac has been made for faster editing experiences but falls short on the rendering and export factor as it uses a spatial compression in comparison to its counterpart which uses temporal compression. Hence it takes more time.

I'm considering apple because everything I bought with Windows have always had problems sooner or later. When I click on an icon, I expect the software to open instantly. But even Asus ROG keeps crashing and having issues, forcing me to be a computer engineer via Google. It's not funny especially if you're living in a remote area where computer service is not readily available. And I just bought that a couple months.

You can't compare an older model notebook to a Also you can't compare them both on adobe premiere, you would have to compare the Asus with adobe and the new macbook pro with final cut

Just because its apple doesn't mean its good for video editing It depends on the component

The macbook pro should've been using Final Cut Pro X. It would've finished rendering in half the time as the PC.

if your render time is so important, then forget PPro and go FCP, it is 10 times faster ?? if you cannot leave PPro then you have to live with the silly render times, thats how it works.
