I hate being told my autisim is my superpower. Having a meltdown because people were too loud or because of bright lights is so cool. Being put in the lower sets of my year groups because i struggle to learn like everyone else is so powerful. Crying and panicking because my schedule was ruined is me slaying.

Yeah we tend to not pay attention so it's possible we accidentally unalive ourselves due to ignoring things that we need to pay attention to like health problems and stuff like that also this is what I hear all the time myself and it sucks 😅 so glad your able to show others what people go through with this. It really sucks. I have severe ADHD and my inability to do something productive for more than an hour scares me. How am I supposed to hold down a job? Finish college? I’m scared my ADHD will cause me to be nothing, yet there are people who say “but ADHD is a superpower!” Please remember that it is a disorder and not some quirk.

i have had this reaction to me saying that i have adhd and autism aswell sadly with the autism one i have also heard “but you are so normal!” meanwhile i had meltdown every day after school where i just sobbed oncontrolably because i was so overwhelmed and exhausted of acting normal. ❤ you are not alone ❤

The debt part hits home, often times I have to force myself to give my mom my credit card so she can hold onto it. My mom is extremely frugal and I’m the exact opposite, so I’ll end up telling her “get this damn card away from me before I owe hundreds of dollars I can’t pay”

Why does ADHD make me this way? 😭

Ironically I previously thought adhd was the steortypical thing w boys that couldn't sit still, I couldn't figure out how to keep track of anything in my life and had a lot of issues as a result, was hating myself for it and thought I was just dumb & useless, turned into a heavy depression... turns out I've adhd 😅 we really need these videos and similar that talks about the negative impact adhd can have and how it otherwise affects someone, bc many people genuinely don't know, due to stereotypes ❤

I always get told that oh ADHD doesn't effect everything and I can't blame everything on ADHD. Yes it does. It effects every part of my life. I dont try and use it as an excuse I just genuinely can't because I'm not the same as everyone else. I am different and no one seems to understand that. Even my own ADHD mother who has convinced herself of the same thing.
