Somewhere out there, there's a western-otaku exclaiming "The dub RUINED this scene! This is why I'm learning English, so I can watch Breaking Bad as it was ORIGINALLY intended!"

Fun fact the Japanese voice actor for Walter white voices doctor Hiriluk from one piece

I wonder if Japanese viewers noticed the similarities between this show and death note

I love watching translated vids but its kinda sad because Bryan Cranstons incredible and scary acting cant be translated.

Although any Japanese I know is limited (I'm not far in studying it, but I know some things.) I think they did a good job here. Just like in the original, Walter starts out as a meek and mild mannered chemistry teacher. In the beginning of the series he speaks politely, using honorifics and polite word endings. Against his enemies early on he doesn't speak with honorifics but relatively informally. Here, when his true colors come through, he talks almost like Crazy 8 did in the beginning and all politeness is thrown out the window. The effort to show the progression of his character is definitely here.

It is a man named Shigeru Ushiyama who played the voice of Walter white in this dubbing, and his other famous dubbed appearance work is "friends"Ros's role

Part that seems to be missed in the translation:

When Walt/Bryan says "I am the danger" he exaggerates a little and his voice becomes scary and unhinged, cracking a little. It would feel really forced and maybe even cartoony if he did it too long, but he does it for only a moment, like he's becoming Heisenberg (blah blah blah) for a second, making the sentence feel standalone. The whole line is emphasized. In this dub it feels more like he's just continuing his explanation, as part of an even longer explanation, although it feels like there's still a little emphasis (as he still has a slight pause, and he starts speaking loud right as the camera angle still emphasizes that moment by suddenly closing up on his face)

I don't know why I searched for this but I love it.

You don't feel the emotion unless you watch it in the original language. Some dubs can do the job right but not perfect. If I were a Japanese dude interested in Breaking Bad, I'd watch it in English with subtitles.

I can't understand a word but it seems to add more intensity to the conversation

Why Walter use watashi instead of Ore?

Well short of Bryan Cranston’s intensity. Japanese remakes don’t do nearly as good a job as US remakes (in general).
