There's a huge misconception of what a concept is, their concept as a group is different from comeback concepts. Their lore is their concept as a group, this comeback's concept is about them in the real world hence the whole white cali girl aesthetic (i don't this is Y2K btw, this is early 2010s, the transition into Tumblr era)

I think people confuse "concept" and "lore"
the *concept* is definitely different, it is still in line with the *lore* tho
Now while this isn't the first time they've changed concept (DCT/LTS/Forever exist after all lol) it's still even different from their other concepts imo, maybe closer to LTS but still not quite the same sound or vibe

Ig people forgot about dreams come true, and even forever. It's not the first time they've tried smth different then the typical "aespa-sound". I think they're gonna bring it back to "aespa-style" perhaps next cb. I see WTMY/Spicy era is like a transition period after they've defeated black mamba and whatever is gonna happen next!

I'm also very curious if Taeyong's solo is gonna have some connection to aespa's next comeback! Cause I saw similarities from previous aespa-stuff to his solo!

aespa indeed changed their concept from the heavy 'Kwangyafied' based concepts to the 'Real World' but musical direction is still the same and they're still on the brand, as 'aespa'.

We are not fighting but explaining why people saying aespa changed their concept are wrong. Spicy is absolutely part of the storyline. If you don’t stan aespa then that’s why you misunderstood. You can also simply do some research to try to understand instead of acting like we are trying to fight with you.

You’re kinda forgetting that there’s two parts to aespa and artist whom done the same

There’s the lore part of the concept that’s about the group as a whole <— this has not changed as we had WTMW (which we’ve been told was supposed to be naevis’s debut song and she was in the mv) and not to mention we have teasers also talked about something happened

And the comeback concept <—this is the one that’s changed which led to ppl thinking they changed the whole thing when that’s far from true


If aespa truly changed the whole concept (both comeback & lore) then salty & sweet would have never seen the light of day all the way back from their hyperline concert

It’s track video is also evidence of the overall group concept not changing and even the others like I’m unhappy.

Yes! And ppl always mention "Dreams come True" to defend it, but Dreams come True is not an original aespa song, its a cover of BoA 😂 I still like Spicy, but you cannot deny the concept change

That's called an aesthetic. None of their previous songs have the same *aesthetic* either but the concept is still there, their AE universe. It's the same with Spicy. Watch the MV again to see the lore.

their real world sound isn’t similar to their kwangya sound. think back to forever & life’s too short. in fact, spicy is more kwangya leaning in terms of sound than it is to their real world sound. spicy was a compromise of the two worlds.
