I like how people hate Miller in this scene even though he is the most sane one. Venom is basically saying: "I want child soldiers", and Kaz basically replies with "No, we are not giving guns to children, what the fuck is wrong with you".

Venom basically suggests training them as child soldiers to be sent to their inevitable deaths. Kaz refuses and says they won't fight and instead they'll be taught to read and write. And Kaz is the bad guy here?? Come on guys ! In the tapes you can see that Kaz cares for kids much more and identifies with their hatred of adults.

Kaz’ true nature is shown in his reactions here. He rejects the idea that the child is a “natural” because doing so would be admitting that humans are inherently violent. This would render the mission he had always fought for impossible. To bring the peace that his mother intended with his name. The same peace he strives for in every project he undertakes (even burgers).

Regardless, that gunplay he pulled off was slick as hell considering his condition.

Honestly I feel like the main reason Kaz will not have the kids as soldiers is because of the trauma that might have been left behind by the loss of Chico. He remains extremely protective of them throughout the game, even of Eli who is going around causing trouble all the time.

He sure seems to care about their future for someone who doesn't like kids.

God, I love little moments like this that show that Kaz really does have a big heart, especially compared to everyone around him
