The #4thofJuly, often known as #Independence Day, has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941, but Independence Day celebrations have a long history dating back to the #AmericanRevolution in the 18th century. What events took place before the independence and why did the American revolution happen? What were the reasons for it? Stick to the end of the video to find your answers.

Did you know? That the name and date of the Fourth of July are two of the most common misunderstandings? On July 4, 1776, it is widely assumed that America declared independence from Britain. The official vote, however, occurred two days earlier, and the "Declaration" was published in newspapers on July 4.

The Continental Congress voted in favor of independence on July 2, 1776, and delegates from the 13 colonies adopted the #DeclarationofIndependence, a historic document penned by Thomas Jefferson, two days later. July 4th has been commemorated as the birth of American independence since 1776, with events ranging from fireworks displays, parades, and concerts to more casual family gatherings and barbecues.

It’s sad that we have people LIVING in our country who see the flag as “negative”. How humiliating to allow these people to breathe in our country.
If you look at our flag and don’t have the utmost respect, humility, honor and thankfulness for those who have given their lives for your freedom, you should not be here. It’s that simple.

The Flagstaff Pow Wow, mentioned at the 8:50 mark, has not been held for over 40 years now. It ran for 50 years from 1930 to 1980. At its peak, it drew about 100, 000 visitors and participants (the population of Flagstaff was only about 20, 000 at the time) but was discontinued after continual problems with public intoxication, vagrancy, fighting, overcrowding and unsanitary conditions and excessive noise for the nearby homeowners, as well as growing public sentiments that the Pow Wow exploited Native Americans and their culture.
