But closing old bank accounts can affect your credit score since that reduced your "age of credit" as in your credit history and payments etc. For example I moved to the UK years ago and my old accounts opened then have since been closed and my credit history shows as a lot less years than it should be. So be careful when doing this!

Who can afford to live off the state pension alone as it stands now. If Labour put up the state pension then surely that would be a very good thing for people getting the state pension. Better have higher state pension payments and pay a little bit of tax surely, than having a lower state pension. This is just richi being desperate now, he'll try anything to get one over on the Labour Party, but this is just ridiculous. And I'm sure in the future the personal tax allowance will go up higher than £12570 thus alleviating the need to pay tax on the state pension. I'm 100 certain the vast majority of people in the UK will be better under a Labour government if they win outright
