Ponderous question: does comic books have set number of pages. And if so, what is that number and how did it came to be?

That moment when you wait for Wednesday read your comics ... then wait for Wednesday again

So the video was great in general, but that Zoe pun by the editor really stole the show...

So awesome Diamond helped with this! Now I have to go look for the Fringe comic book I saw in that photo you had up there...and also, I freaking love the tie-in intro.

When I first started buying comics (around '87) I was buying them from a news stand in a convenience store and always went on Friday, never even thought about a particular release date. I was only when a distant cousin of mine opened a comic shop in the early 90's that I learned they had a particular day set aside.

Now, I buy digital comics (since there is no longer a place to buy them locally anymore) and I've gone back to doing my online shopping on Fridays, old habits I guess. :)

When I was a kid in the early 90s I didn't have access to a comic book store. I had to either buy my comics at the local convenience store and grocery store in my town, or get a subscription. Comics always arrived at the stores on Thursdays, and my subscriptions would arrive on Fridays. When I got my drivers license and was finally able to regularly drive to a comic book store It made perfect sense that comics came in on Wednesdays. Wednesdays for the direct market, Thursdays for the newsstands, and Fridays for subscriptions. We can't test that theory anymore. Newsstand sales no longer exist (that's a shame really) and I haven't needed a subscription in two decades.

Will you talk about Spawn? I feel like Spawn isn't getting enough attention since he's neither Marvel nor DC. Perhaps talking about Spawn's similarities to Venom. I'm very confused if Spawn really is a rip off of Venom or not. I did some research and found that McFarlane actually had a hand in Venom's creation (his appearance I believe) so what is he like ripping himself off? Could you guys maybe do a video on that?

I have heard that the comics arrived on whensday so they could be sold ob fridays. However many stores sold them on whensday and the release date was then pushed back to have a fair compitiion. Not so much
for having a comic book day.

2 questions. remember as a kid in the 80's some comics had a logo(like Spiderman for marverl) Or as UPC in the bottom corner rumor was the one with the Spidey head was more valuable what was behind that. part of me remembers that one was supposed to be comic shop vs newsstand. and happened to the old remainder comics bags you could buy with the slashes through the covers or missing covers. I know in some paperbacks have a warning against buy books without covers.

The world without comics stores, people used to buy comics at news stands and drug stores.

I was talking to my comic store owner and she hates Diamond so much, their returns policy is really bad and deliveries have arrived days late for the last couple of weeks. She says they claim it's because of the holidays, but this week isn't a holiday week (In England anyway) so that's not a reason.

Wait. This doesn't track to my experience. This shift happened before the 1990s. I was collecting in the 80s and Wednesday was still THE day for new comics.

New comics being released on Wednesdays happened waaaay before the 1990's. I collected comic books starting in the early 70's and the new books were only released on Wednesday, and this happened before anything like DVDs were even thought up, so the home entertainment market had nothing to do with comics being released on Wednesdays.
